Michael J. Bedesky

Mr. Bedesky, a partner in the firm, has been practicing law since 1991. His areas of concentration include products liability, insurance coverage, class actions, commercial transportation, sports/recreation liability and industrial casualty cases. Mr. Bedesky has tried eighteen cases to verdict before a jury. Representative cases include defamation, declaratory judgments/insurance coverage, construction/industrial accident liability, and motor vehicle liability. In addition to an extensive trial caseload, Mr. Bedesky also maintains a significant appellate practice in both State and Federal court. He has argued nine cases before the Fourth and Fifth District Illinois Appellate Courts, addressing issues of an insurance carrier's duty to defend, underinsured motorist coverage, bad faith, evidentiary issues, forum non conveniens, premises liability, appellate procedure and expert disclosure.

He is a member of the Insurance Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association, and has been appointed to serve on the Legal Education Committee for the Bar Association of the Central and Southern Federal Districts of Illinois.

Mr. Bedesky received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and an Honors Degree from Loyola University, Chicago in 1988. He received his juris doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1991. He is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Bedesky was born in Joliet, Illinois on March 26, 1966.
